  Official #EdPins Submission for Escola Americana de Campinas #ServicePin In 2018, EAC started the Community Service and Action Program (CSA). It is a secondary school-wide program where all students Grades 6-10 pick CSA groups based on their interests, goals and talents. During the school day, there will be planning sessions for the CSA groups. Outside of the school day, students are expected to devote approximately 8 hours between January and May 1st to the project. Students will then reflect on the progress in May. The cycle will begin again next academic year. Group projects range from raising awareness about global issues to partnering with community organizations. Students will have the opportunity to tutor, make, paint, fundraise, clean etc. Grade 9 and 10 students lead the groups under the mentorship of EAC teachers. This helps students to acquire the skills necessary for the IB CAS (Community Action and Service) and to connect with issues that impact our communities both locally and globally. R.
