::I came to Rio with a friend after traveling in other parts of Brazil. The room was clean and simple, the neighborhood in a safe location, and there are grocery stores, restaurants, and other shops within walking distance. Also close to the beach! The front desk staff were very helpful with assistance booking taxis to the airport and local directions/recommendations, whether or not they spoke English. We were also able to store our luggage after checkout, but before we left for the airport. A great place for travelers on a budget who want something nicer than a hostel.
