  We stayed at Arena hotel while visiting Rio. We had a nice time. You could tell the hotel was older and needed some maintenance. The breakfast area was just ok, they had a good variety of options but it wasn’t my personal favorite. The pool bar was on top the hotel and was pretty cool, but you weren’t allowed to bring your own alcohol up which was a bummer. It was also open later than most nearby restaurants which was also good. The 9pm curfew was in effect during March 2021 and the pool bar didn’t close til 10:30. There are outlets in the room, but depending on where you live make sure you bring an adapter with you.

  Don't get too confortable at your room as the windows are not actually opacque and people from outside can see your room. I wouldn't recommend the food at the restaurant - to many fried items even when not especified in the menu and the food is nothing special. I also wouldn't recommend going to their bar at the rooftop as the barman working there was never wearing a face mask besides the health authorities requiring it for public spaces.

  The staff is not friendly, and does not understand English. They do their job very badly they don't deserve 2 stars. Twice we get the wrong room, trying to save in every way. They change the prices of the rooms, when you want to extend your stay they say there are no free rooms and the hotel is half empty not to say completely empty but it is unfortunately. I'm leaving tomorrow and if I'm not entitled to a refund. No wonder they don't allow a refund 🤨

  The hotel has a great location. Breakfast has good options. The bedroom was not cleaned properly on our arrival. No plugs in the bedroom just in the toilet. I think for the next time in Rio I would look for some other options as the hotel was quite pricey for what it is.
