::A comparative article between El Misty House and Casa del Mar as I had the opportunity to stay in both for more than 3 days each. Reception: In both houses the reception is just perfect with professional well chosen, convincing and helpful young people. Also, with a smooth shift. Rooms: This is the most important thing to write about simply because we are intending to be in both houses for rest and sleep. You may book one private room for 2 people if available, but the one I visited in Casa del Mar was actually not suitable for me.In both houses most rooms go from a four-bed-shared room up to a six-bed-shared one in Casa del Mar.This differs in having up to a twelve-bed-shared room in El Misti House.Within this framework, you may just imagine how comfortable or how disturbed you may feel depending on your mood and obviously on the people inside the shared room.Personally,I did not have any problem in any of the shared rooms. On the opposite, I came to establish good relationships and consequently made good friends, especially from Sao Paulo in Brazil and from other parts of the world. This is the most valuable side of my travel to Brazil simply because both houses are the most likely places where to meet different colour-skinned people with different cultural backgrounds from different south American countries.I think Brazil is a country gathering together so many foreign people from the Americas, and as such it is the most important to visit in south America, with having Rio de Janeiro and Copacabana in mind,I hope I am not mistaken. The ambiance in both houses : In Casa del Mar house, at breakfast time people have a complete varied breakfast and can have a good opportunity to meet and talk. You can also enjoy being in the bar counter bringing your own drinks you kept in the fridge in the shared kitchen. This is a place upstairs you may feel « at home » in.let me just say that the price of your breakfast is included in the bill you pay; 50 Real each day.For me as a Moroccan was not expensive. In El Misti House, if you book via the internet the price includes breakfast,if not, then you pay the same price without their explanation why; this is how it is « They told me ». In El Misty House there is a bar that is opened in the evening where you are theoritically not allowed to bring your drinks, but to pay for them right on the spot with reasonable prices I have to admit. What is really good about these Brazilian « Youth Hostels » is that they are both located in the centre of Rio de Janeiro with a few blocks away from Copacabana incredibly beautiful beach. Both hostels are neighbours and Shops and Supermarkets are just round the corner... I would like to thank all the Brazilian people and government for having imposed no visa on me to enter their territory , and for the hospitability, the warm feeling I went through while in my stay in Sao Paulo and in Rio de Janeiro. I also would like to thank Those Moroccan professionel crew members on 789 dreamliner board of Royal Air Maroc who collaborated to make of my nine-hour-flight to Brazil a very memorable travel without limits.

::A bit run-down but my main reasons for a low rating is that they turn off the AC in the rooms at about 9am then only turn it back on late at night. If you sleep in then you'll have to suffer through the humidity. They also charged me 30BR upon check out even though I didn't have a tab *check Hostelworld reviews as I'm not the first to have experienced this. They couldn't explain what it was for so I just paid it. I don't recommend this place at all.

::Very Good Staff! No party every night, but regular events in weekends makes it an agradable place, mixing good rest and a nice conversation with another guests.
