  Best place to stay. (Close to the beach) Polite and very friendly workers! If u need something they will always help you. Feels like home, when u stay there.✌🏻🥳

  Che Lagarto is absolutely perfect. The position is very nice: super close to Ipanema beach, to a metro station and to several nice and cheap restaurants. Clean and confortable, nice music and nice people. Making friends there is suuuper easy, even for who is shy. You are never alone! But what makes this place special is the staff: the guys are very nice and helpful. And the bartender makes the best caipirinha ever.

  Avoid this place. You will find way cozier and cleaner hostels in Rio. I thought the location was good and the price was cheap, but it took me a couple of minutes to realize why. The place has 6 floors and the elevator was broken. The stairs are really narrow and hard to take if you have anything bigger than a backpack. If it wasn't frustrating enough, once I've got to my room on the 6th floor, the door wouldn't unlock. For twice that day I had to go down to the reception to see if my card had any problem, it would help a lot if the Brazilian lady in there would explain the lock was defective and had a trick to open, instead of acting like the guest is bothering her. My bed had like 2 feet clearence from the ceiling.

  Location is amazing, staff is really nice. Rooms are way too small, it's hard to sleep in a hacinated place with 35 degrees and no air (there is air conditioning but it was off most of the time.) If u get the upper bed, change it. Bed is too near the roof and there is no air!!

  Great location for beach, restaurants and shopping. Rooms cleaned at least twice daily. Rooms are small and the place is older but for the price it is fair. Did not realize it was a party hostel but I made the most of it and enjoyed my time. Thank you to the helpful and friendly staff.
